We are a Before and After School program only. Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday; 6:30am - beginning of school day and end of school day - 6:00pm. We are open only during the school year. If you are unable to work this split shift, you will be automatically disqualified for any position. We officially opened our doors on Monday, August 28th (the first day of school for Wilson SD for the start of the 2017-18 school year). We are open on Act 80/Professional Days that Wilson SD has off so the need for full day coverage on those particular days is necessary.

Administration

Director

*The Director is responsible for the general management of the facility, including the following minimum duties:

- Administering finances, personnel, maintenance, meal planning, preparation & transportation

- Administering the facility’s program objectives & activities

- Coordinating and planning daily activities with the group supervisors/assistant group supervisors

- Written evaluation of staff persons on a regular basis - at their 90 day completion, and then a minimum of one evaluation every 12 months


- You must be able to grow the program's attendance. The candidate must have extensive knowledge of the Berks County area/school districts.

Essential Functions:


* The Director is responsible for ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education, for all children within the program's care. The Director is directly accountable for overall operational management in accordance with well-established guidelines, including curriculum development, staff and facilities management, legal and budgetary considerations, and long range planning. The Director ensures that the needs of the students and the goals of the program are met appropriately.


* Manages adherence to quality standards in accordance with the program's vision and with state and local requirements. Maintain quality effectiveness measurements. Implement a strategic plan and goals in keeping with the mission of the program. Develop general educational curriculum, collaborate with staff to develop positive learning activities.


* Maintain student records in accordance with established enrollment procedures and guidelines. Establish illness and emergency procedures; ensures staff is trained appropriately. Maintain communications with parents of current and prospective students through direct conversation, newsletters and parent handbook, implement community outreach activities to maintain and promote positive community relationships.


* Approve menus and food purchases. Maintain positive relationships with regulatory agencies, ensure legal and financial compliance. Manage budget planning and review.


* Oversee all office functions including Payroll, A/P, Human Resources, staff supervision and purchasing.


* Manage Federal and State funding programs such as CCIS and CACFP. Timely reporting of OCDEL requirements.

 


The Director shall have attained one of the following qualification levels:

     - A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in ECE, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary or Secondary Education and 1 year of experience with children

     - A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university, including 30 credit hours in ECE, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary/Secondary Education and 2 years of experience with children

     - An Associate’s degree from an accredited college/university in ECE, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary/Secondary Education and 3 years of experience with children

     - An Associate’s degree from an accredited college/university, including 30 credit hours in ECE, Child Development, Special Education, Elementary/Secondary Education, and 4 years of experience with children


Additional Requirements:


* Director's Credential preferred; not required


* CPR and First Aid Certified


* At least 2 years experience as a Director. Minimum of 4 years of supervisory experience. 5 years of direct professional experience in an early childhood setting. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as technology skills. Ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment. Must have a strong understanding of child development.


* Microsoft Office Products experience is required. Excellent leadership, organization, and interpersonal skills.


*This position must have knowledge of Federal, State, and Local laws regarding safety requirements and inspection/certification procedures to ensure the program remains in compliance.

****Salary commensurate with experience. This position is part time (20-25 hours/week). Benefits are not offered at this time but will change with continued growth of the company.
